Been there, done that... Kazimierz Dolny, Poland

As I didn't have vacation this year, I only had a chance to go somewhere in my own country. In May I took my mum for one day to a lovely town which is called Kazimierz Dolny. The history of it dates back to 11th century and it is considered one of the most beautiful little towns of Poland.

In the middle of the town there is a market square with a historic well in the middle.

In the town there are few old granaries. Nowadays they serve as hotels or museums.

The town is famous of rooster shaped breadrolls. If by any chance one day you step your foot in Kazimierz Dolny don't forget to try one:)

Golden poop

My Korean friend has been to Toilet Museum. It is in the toilet-shaped house - Mr. Toilet House (Haewoojae) in Suwon City. Mr. Toilet House has the meaning of a house to relieve worries. It was built by Sim Jae-duck, also known as Mr. Toilet, who lived the life in full and passionate devotion to develop the toilet culture movement. This movement bagan in Suwon in the late 90's and spread out to Korea and overseas as one of the improvement movement of mankind. The purpose of it was to change dirty public toilets into beautiful and clean ones before the 2002 FIFA World Cup games. It gave birth to World Toilet Association (WTA) which purpose is to improve the health and sanitation of the world by building and improving public toilets in developing countries.

Obviously inside the Mr. Toilet House the visitors can see all kinds of toilets and learn toilet history. You can find more information about museum and photos of the toilets here

Been there, done that, ate this and that... Rome, Italy

The winter is depressing and I am dreaming about vacations already... but for now I can only recall the last ones, that I had in the end of October/beginning of November and which I spent in the beautiful and tasty Rome <3

I loved the fact that every here and there are parts of ruins and the monuments. I loved that the whole city smells with delicious Italian food. I was amazed with Italians talent to park cars so close to each other that it seemed impossible... I was in Italy before so I did see it before but this time I had ocasion to observe how they actually squeeze in this tiny space between other cars! Okay, I'll add that too... hearing all the compliments from strangers - policemen, soldiers, waiters, random guys in the streets was a nice change too:P I loved the atmosphere of Rome, gelatos, pizza and good wine. Oh, I miss it.

Been there, done that... Vilnius, Lithuania

Having a summer house halfway between Warsaw and Vilnius, I've been planning to go to Lithuanian capital for many years... butin the end I always stayed in my summer house and didn't go further. In the last weekend of September I finally made my plan work, I went to Vilnius by bus from Warsaw and spent two lovely days at our neighbours. Look what I've seen and what I ate together with a friend who went with me:)

 

Been there, done that... Prague, Czech Republic

Since I write here about my passions, let me introduce my biggest one, which is travelling! Unfortunatelly, I can't travel as much as I'd like to but I go somewhere every now and then. This summer I had no vacation but there was one longer weekend in August due to holiday and for these three days I went to our neighbouring country - Czech Republic to visit their beautiful capital, Prague:) I was once in Prague but that was many many years ago, on a school trip so I didn't remember it well. Now I went again and I've seen wonders;)

Show me... one of your favourite places

One of my favourite places in the world is a place where I go for vacation since I was 10 years old. We have a summer house there and I just love going there. It's in the region with many lakes called Mazury. I have so many good memories connected with this place and I must go there at least for couple of days each year, otherwise I feel like something's missing in my life. There's lake nearby and the forest. A family of swans and storks come there for vacation too;)

It's my little heaven on earth :)
