I’ve just finished reading “Hopscotch” by Julio Cortazar and I am totally enchanted by it. I fell in love with the unique style of the author, the way he plays with words (something I always enjoy in books). It’s an absolute masterpiece. I’ve made a lot of notes during reading but chapter 7 especially got my attention. I am absolutely convinced I have found the most beautiful description of a kiss ever!
And think that I hanged it for a while in my hand when I was in the bookstore last time, but I promised I would only buy books after receiving the next month, but well I mention it in my next letter that will be sent soon. I can't wait to read Julio Cortázar and I feel in love with his writing even before reading him. He is a South America and I have a that feeling of great writers...
ReplyDeleteFirst comment, what a joy :) Thank you Joana.
ReplyDeleteI admire South American writers as well, I haven't read a bad book by them yet, so I also "stereotype" them even before reading, hehe
I'm already excited after you mentioned a letter for me :D
I'm not familiar with South American writers, but this passage is very inspiring, so I'll try to find this book ^.^ I've found the Polish part fascinating too... I have no idea how to pronounce it, but I'd say I could understand parts of it even without English... though owocu looks like 'vegetable' to me ^.^
ReplyDeleteYou're close, "owoc" means "fruit". There's "u" in the end because it's genitive.
ReplyDeleteLove this description. Absolutely enthralling!
